Santa Clarita Spiritual Medium Yesenia Berbair aims to help living clients and their departed loved ones find peace and move forward on their journeys both in life and in death.
Grieving is a natural, normal process for people who have lost loved ones. Some people, however, require more time and emotional labor to fully heal after losing someone special. Berbiar hopes to help her clients grieve healthily with an aim to not only heal the hearts of those here on Earth, but also the spirits of the departed.
“My true goal, or my ultimate goal is to heal the heart here (on Earth) and heal the spirit in Heaven,” Berbiar said. “When your energy is low and you’re very depressed and you’re grieving, … (your departed loved ones) want to stay down here because they want to comfort you. So what happens is that they’re still not at peace.”

Berbiar explained that she’s helped multiple spirits move on from the physical realm to a better place in Heaven. She said that love, respect, and attention go a long way towards helping spirits move on.
“I first try to find out how the person died,” explained Berbiar. “If it was a tragic death, then I definitely want to do some healing with that person … and show them the way to Heaven and how it’s so much easier and healthier for them to be there. (Then) they tend to just go on their way.”
Berbiar said that distance doesn’t factor into her ability to reach out to her clients or their loved ones’ spirits. As long as the spirits are willing to speak with her, she’s able to help clients from all over the world from her practice here in Santa Clarita.
“I’ve done readings for people as far away as Thailand,” said Berbiar. “What matters is the spirit. And when that spirit comes to see me and I can make that connection, then everything is possible.”
Berbiar begins every session with a new client by first asking their loved ones’ spirits permission to talk with them.
“Once I get that permission granted, … everybody, even animals come by and start talking to me,” the spiritual medium said. “They just love to explain everything.”
Although Berbiar said that openness is a helpful quality for clients to bring to the table when coming to her, she’s able to speak with the spirits of those who don’t necessarily believe in her ability as well as those who do.
“If they have an open heart and open mind, it’s very easy for their loved ones to come through,” said Berbiar. “No matter what, when you talk to your loved ones and you ask them for signs, there are signs all over the place,” she continued.
Berbiar did, however, warn potential clients that they may miss out on signals from their loved ones if they are unwilling to look for signs in unexpected places.
“If you’re completely closed off or you’re only wanting to hear that one thing and it doesn’t come through, but you have all these other signs,” Berbiar said, “you just have to be willing to take those blinders off, have an open heart, open mind, and hear them.”
